Couple Get their Dream Narnia Wedding

One lucky bride enjoyed a fairytale wedding direct from the land of Narnia. When Kelly Beard tied the knot with Mike Foden at the Royal Station Hotel in Newcastle recently, her floral displays were inspired by the magical land created by C.S. Lewis in the famous Chronicles of Narnia.

She had called on the help of floristry students at Tyne Met College in Wall send to produce fantasy-themed floristry arrangements. And the students created fantastic designs reflecting wintery and rustic concepts for bouquets, buttonholes, hair flowers and table centre arrangements.

The 34-year-old bride, now Kelly Beard Foden, of Chichester, was delighted at the 'magical' results. She said: "I was really unsure of what type of flower arrangements I wanted, but after talking everything through, the Narnia theme came about. "My bouquet was absolutely amazing - everybody said so."My hair piece, bridesmaid's bouquet, the button-holes and the table centre pieces were so pretty and unusual.

"I received lots and lots of compliments on the day. "I would like to thank the staff and students at Tyne Met for making the floral arrangements - they followed the mystical and magical design brief which complemented my wedding theme, and made my day so memorable."The mum-of-one said that despite having only four months' experience, the students, Anne Forster and Jane Ferry, worked with the floristry teachers and technicians to create a 'work of art'.

The floristry department at Tyne Met College undertakes commissions for birthdays, weddings, funerals and other occasions.
